Products & Services
The Products & Services feature in BluePro allows you to create, manage, and reuse standard offerings across Invoices, Jobs, and Quotes. You can also create custom items when needed
Adding Line Items
When editing a job, quote, or invoice:
- Navigate to the Products & Services section
- Click + Line Item
- Choose from:
- Existing Services from your service catalog
- Custom Line Items that you define on the spot
Each line item includes:
- Product / Service Name
- Description (optional)
- Quantity
- Unit Price
- Total (auto-calculated)
- Tax Exempt checkbox (optional)
Discounts, Taxes, and Deposits
You can apply additional pricing adjustments:
- Discount: Fixed amount or percentage off the subtotal
- Sales Tax: Applied based on your tax rate settings
- Required Deposit (in quotes/invoices): A percentage or flat amount the customer must pay upfront
These fields appear automatically and can be used as needed.
Supporting Elements
For more complex or styled documents, you can insert:
- Text Blocks: For extra context or disclaimers
- Headings: To organize items into sections
- Images: Useful for visual references (2MB max, JPG/PNG)
These elements are optional but enhance clarity for the customer.
Service Updates and Draft Syncing
When using an existing service:
- If that service is later updated in your catalog while the item is still in Draft, you will see a warning prompt to refresh the item
- You can choose to apply the updated service details or keep the original version
This ensures your records remain accurate while allowing flexibility.
Best Practices
- Use existing services whenever possible for consistency in pricing and reporting
- Use custom line items for edge cases or one-time services
- Group related services using headings and enhance clarity with images and descriptions
- Regularly update your service catalog to keep rates and offerings current
